A day in London does the spirits good, my spirits anyway. Had a truly full, albeit very brief, time in the city that got off to a great start with some time with Kester at the Tate Britain (a museum I have visited regularly my entire adult life) and a look at the Rude Britannia exhibit--plus a much welcomed chat with K whom I admire greatly. From there I went up the river to the Festival Hall to meet my brother and niece for an afternoon concert of 1000 Yeasrs of Popular Music with RIchard Thompson as part of the Meltdown Festival which he is curating this year. After that we hit the streets for window shopping-- the energy of London is so different to LA--people everywhere. I am off to Rome tomorrow- what a lucky lad I am!
