Conceptual artist Diddo Velema created this 'cure for greed' syringe kit, featuring an 18 carat gold syringe and ink drawn from $10k in used currency to address the issue of greed.

Velema claims that he is inspired by human behaviour, particularly behaviours that may seem irrational or antiquated. There is a short interview here.

I discovered him via an image of a skull that he created out of cocaine. His pieces offer fascinating critique and commentary on what drives us, how we both address and mask our behaviours and how we negotiate the complexities of life, and perhaps more importantly how we manage to conquer the outer world while remaining victims of our internal make-up.

 

  

Migraines

I am in the middle of a season of migraines--they seem to come in clusters, every week or so for a while then nothing for months--it's a fucking drag. I have avoided medication but it's coming to that or medical marijuana if this keeps up!!! Need to find some darker, wrap-around sunglasses, got to block the sunlight--feel like a bloody vampire caught outside at noon!!!!!

Ouch!!

Have had a bit of a tooth infection, look like a chipmunk, feel like I've been smacked in the face, ouch!

Take Two At Mealtimes!!

Nausea, dizziness, stroke, loose bowels, incontinence, ulcers, blindness, just some of the small print problems with the any of the pills that are continually pitched on the telly over here for all kinds of disorders--Flomax-Levitra-I don't know what they are, but they are always being advertised and you have to ask yourself if any pill is worth the 'possible side effects' that are given at the end of these cure-all pitches. But today a product called Mirapex perhaps took the biscuit, I can't even remember what it is a potential remedy for right this minute. The ad goes through the motions of showing us sufferers with anew lease on life and then lists the usual possible side effects--drowsiness, falling asleep during normal activities like driving(!), and also the more rarefied--"if you experience increased gambling or sex impulses contact your doctor immediately!! I kid you not--a pill that might cause excessive gambling--maybe they should give them out in Vegas?!!
